Rick Hayes has over 35 years of experience in breaking, exhibiting, and selling gated horses, from trail and field trail to performance. He is a graduate of the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (Animal Sciences). He has held a professional trainer’s license for over a decade. He is a member of the Ranch Horse Association, and the National Cattleman’s Beef Association. He was a member of Faisig – Tipton Thoroughbred sales for 22 years, Tattersalls horse sales (saddlebred), Cochran Horse Sales Sales (Morgan), Horse Sales LP and Oakwood Sales (Tennessee walking horses), and Eaton Sales Company (thoroughbreds). He has also worked for a horse rescue and breaking center under Gary Lane. As a realtor, he has brokered farms, horse properties, and estate settlement.

Rick’s equine journey has moved from breaking young horses to professional trainig several disciplines of performance horse, to producing and selling horses in partnerships, to working and development of his own horses. He and his wife, Jessica, own Covenant Farm and Horsemanship.

Rick believes with proper training horses can enrich our lives for safe trail riding and rail riding.
